  •  Abdij van Vlierbeek (Vlierbeek Abbey)

Abdij van Vlierbeek (Vlierbeek Abbey)

Vlierbeekabdij

This abbey was founded by the Benedictine monks of Affligem in 1127.

During the French period the monastery was abolished. Apart from the abbey's farm, the church and the abbot's residence are still standing, both built in the Classical style.

In the cemetery, you see several tombstones of famous people. This historical site also offers a green zone with entrance in the Vlierbeeklaan.
