Leuven and the Hageland wine region

After a trip past the most important historic monuments in the centre of Leuven (including the town hall and Great Beguinage), we discover Hageland wine, acclaimed the best Belgian wine in 2008. We stroll through the local vineyards and are given an account of Hageland wine.

9.15 a.m.	Arrive in Leuven. Welcome coffee
10.00 a.m.	Meet the guide at the Town Hall Visit 2 of the following classic attractions: Town Hall Saint Peter's Church (with M/St. Peter's Treasury + € 1,25 per person) Groot-Begijnhof (Great Beguinage) Saint Gertrude's Church and Abbey general walk
12.30 p.m.	Lunch
	Option 1 2.00 p.m.: Depart for Tielt-Winge (Church of Our Lady) 2.30 p.m. : Meet the guide for a guided vineyards walk (9.5 km). 5.30 p.m.: End of the walk Option 2 2.30 p.m. : Visit to the 'Elzenbosch Art Center and Winery in Assent. Guided tour of the vineyard with more information on Hageland wine. Wine tasting: 1 glass of wine and a sample of a second kind of wine. 5.00 p.m.: End of the guided tour Option 3 (+ € 4.00 extra) Sample Wezemaal and its wine 2 p.m.: visit + multimedia presentation of Hageland wine in the visitors' centre 2.45 p.m.: guided walk to the vineyards on the Wijngaardberg 5 p.m.: wine tasting
