Report your stay as a border student with a nationality from outside the EU, EEA or Switzerland
This is your situation:
- You do not have the nationality of an EU country, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway of Switzerland.
- You reside in France, Germany, Luxembourg or the Netherlands. Or you have British nationality and reside in the UK.
- You have no student visa (type D).
- You wish to report yourself as a border student.
After you have reported yourself as a border student, you will receive an 'annex 33' for 1 academic year. Does your residence card expire in the course of the academic year? Then your 'annex 33' is valid only until this expiry date.
Are you staying in Leuven for more than 1 academic year? Then report yourself with the city every academic year.
AttentionIs this not your situation?
Then your registration will proceed differently.

Do you have British nationality?
Exceptionally, you can also report yourself as a border student if you live in the UK.
Pay attention: in this case, you may only travel out of and back into the Schengen area during the first 90 days of your stay. Do you still wish to travel after this period? Then we recommend that you apply for a student visa (type D).
